Welcome to the Inspiration section of my Shop.
Here you will get a behind-the-scenes look at all of the
artists and writers that influence my designs for ALEX&RA.

// Pierre Soulages

Modernity is often described as stark, structured, and void of emotion. I see only the opposite. The paintings above show a depth I can lose myself in.
Gladly and hurriedly, I assure you.

I’m so happy you’re here :)

My new line of bridal wear is currently in the works! Here are some photos that are inspiring me at the moment..

I’m in love!

I am so in love with the images from the new JCrew ad campaign. The purple/pink tints, the settings, the styling.. it’s so very romantic!

And so very inspirational!

{ The Perfect White Dress }

I made this dress recently for a wonderful young lady and wanted to share it with you as well. It was a real treasure to make; I could feel the romance coming together with each careful stitch and each fold of the pleats. This is what dreams are made of!

I can imagine this as the perfect backyard wedding dress, paired with pearl stud earrings and a gorgeous bouquet of pale pinks and lavender buds..

I’m busy with a lot of weddings this year and a new set of dresses to debut as well.
I love every minute of it. Find out more about my bridal services.

There is more that keeps you tied to this log than two simple hands. There is a mountain of hope, an ocean of fate, and a world of it-doesn’t-matter-anyways.

love, love, love
you, you, you

..nature follows

I am such a sucker for black & white.

..well, a little like this.

Every day is a new learning experience, a new challenge, and I don’t always get it right the first time. As the only one in this company, I have a great deal of decision-making power but yet barely any control. I am literally affected by every one outside of me. They are my boss. They can make or break my day’s work.

It’s incredibly exhausting, trying to hold it all together, but for me there is no choice.

This is what I do. This is who I am. Patternmaking, designing, sewing, fabrics, measurements.. these things are my life. And if it’s in flux, then so be it.

This is where I was meant to be.. wherever “this” may be.

so we lingered, so we might have stayed, like rapt figures in some forgotten painting
