Are all items handmade and custom fit?

Yes! Every piece is made by hand as soon as it is purchased. On average, each skirt takes about 7 hours of work, and each dress takes at least 10 hours (depending on their complexity, of course). There are no assembly lines here!

What this means is that your order is completely customized to your specific body shape and height. This means no more mystery-sizing and no more settling between a good fit in one area and a bad fit in another! Do you do any custom designs?

Yes! We love custom work. Most designs can be made in most colors, hems can be lengthened, necklines raised, your options are endless. Just another perk of working one-on-one!

What sizes do you offer?

ALEX&RA is a made-to-order and made-to-measure line. To put this simply, we only make clothes in Your Size, whatever that may be.

What measurements do you need?

The measurements that we need depend on whether you are purchasing a skirt or a dress. Please visit The Perfect Fit for step-by-step instructions to help you complete the appropriate measurements.

Once I have measured myself, how do I complete my order?

When you submit your measurements through The Perfect Fit your information will be sent directly to our studio and logged in our customer database. Within a short period of time, you will receive an email to confirm the order details and clear up any questions you may have.

What if I make a mistake when measuring myself and it doesn’t fit right?

Our number one goal is to make each and every customer happy with their purchase so please let us know in advance if you have questions about your measurements.

Where can I buy ALEX&RA?

ALEX&RA is currently for sale through this website where you can easily and securely make your purchases. When viewing the items you want to purchase, simply click on the link that says “Add to Cart”. Then, when you are finished shopping, click on the “go to cart” link on the right sidebar to be transferred to PayPal where you can finish the transaction. You will be emailed a receipt of the transaction upon completion.

Since all orders are custom fit, make sure to submit your measurements too! Go to The Perfect Fit for a step-by-step guide.

Those who prefer using Etsy can shop through our storefront there.

Select items are also sold at the beautiful Seams Boutique here in San Francisco.

What is your payment policy?

Payment must be received at time of purchase via your Paypal account, personal check, or any major credit card. We are unable to begin working on your order until payment has cleared. Please note there is a $25 fee for all returned checks.

Will I be charged tax?

We are required to collect sales tax for deliveries to California. The tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rate for the address where your order is shipped. Tax will be also collected on shipping and handling charges where applicable.

How do I check on the status of my order after payment?

We are always available to answer your questions! Please contact customer service and you will receive a response in a timely manner.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship between 1-2 weeks after full payment and measurements are received. Rush orders are sometimes available for additional fees, please email us for details in advance of your purchase.

What shipping options do you offer?

We ship all over the world via United States Postal Service. All items shipped within the US arrive within 2-3 days of shipment. International orders arrive between approximately 6-10 days. Please contact us if you require a different carrier or need to rush the order. We will do our best to accommodate your needs! Once shipped, we will send you a confirmation email with your tracking number, if available.

What are your shipping rates?

Based on our standard shipping policy, current rates are as follows:

  • Within the US = $8.00, $3.00 if shipped with another item.
  • To Canada = $9.00, $4.00 if shipped with another item.
  • Everywhere Else = $14.00, $7.00 if shipped with another item.

Do you take returns or exchanges?

Each skirt and dress is carefully handmade to your specifications or design, fabric, color, detail, and custom size. Therefore there are no refunds, exchanges or returns on items purchased through ALEX&RA, as each is made specifically to your order.

All sales are final.

We carefully inspect each item before it is shipping it insure it of the highest quality. If by chance we miss something you must contact us by email within 5 days of receipt of the item with a complete and thorough description of your concern.

Do you offer gift-wrapping?

Yes, of course! ALEX&RA items make perfect gifts for the special woman in your life! Just let us know that it’s a gift and we will take care of the rest.
